Wonderful place to stay in Hanmer - we loved the views, the peace and quiet, the well-appointed accommodation and the wonderful hosts. Bill and Judy cannot do enough for you. They have great advice about what to do in the area and their hospitalty and stories are wonderful. We did not go to the hot pools as the view from the hot tub in the garden is so much better! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cannot wait to go back.

We have stayed at Charwell Lodge twice now and I'm sure we will be visiting again sometime in the future. We both love staying at Charwell as Bill and Judy are the perfect hosts and added to the most beautiful surroundings makes for a very pleasant stay. Charwell is the perfect place to unwind with Hot Spa, Log Fire and a very hearty breakfast.

While visiting Kats family in Ashburton we decided we'd earned a break from our 10 month old son and staying at Charwell Lodge was just what the doctor ordered. From the fantastic food and the restful accomodation to the outside spa it was a couple of days that we'll never forget. Thanks again Bill and Judy

We had a wonderful time, from start to finish. Awesome views beautiful accommodation & we loved the hot spa. You could not get better hosts if you tried, Judy & Bill are the warmest nicest people, made us feel so welcome and comfortable, they even let me feed their pet lamb - we loved it- we would highly recommend this B & B.
